Bobbejaanland: shows and entertainments back

on the program in 2012

This coming season, the Belgian amusement park Bobbejaanland will continue the celebrations of its 50th anniversary with a back to basics by focusing on new shows and entertainments.

The main novelty will be a Horse show, The Secret Diary of Jane Parker, to be presented in the indoor arena. The show will be a mix between song, dance, comedy and stunts and will give the audience a participating role. It will also feature the Italian Togni family as well as the young Flemish musical star Anne Van Opstal.

The main niovelty of the 2012 season will be a horse show: The Secret Diary of Jane ParkerBobbejaanland will also have a new 4-D movie experience with Yogi Bear.

A new 4-D movie will also be presented at the Theatre : Yogi Bear 4-D Adventure that will take visitors on a 12-minutes adventure with Yogi Bear and friends (Hanna-Barbera). Distributed by SimEx-Iwerks, the story is derived from the Warner Bros. Pictures animated feature "Yogi Bear" released in 2010.



Among the many entertainments and events that will brighten the season, visitors will discover American classics, limos, old-timers (USA Cars and Coasters, April 28), meet with the mouse Geronimo Stilton (Geronimo Stilton: Happy Birthday, June 24) or have fun playing video games (Gameland, 7 to 9 September). Not to mention the Halloween festivities between October 13 and November 4. On April 11, Bobbejaanland will also be the first theme park to welcome the Diamond Theme Park Awards Ceremony.

Finally, Bobbejaanland continued this winter the redevelopment of the entrance area (600,000 euros had been already invested in 2011) and installed a new audio system in the aisles in order to differentiate the background music in the different areas of the park. Other work were also realized (a new photolocation, painting, various renovations, etc..)

The new Bobbejaanland’s managing director, Roland Kleve, realised that the festivities to mark the fiftieth anniversary in 2011 were a huge hit, which is why they decided to reintroduce a show and entertainment aspect to the offer. He stated “Our visitors clearly enjoyed the additional show and the entertainment that we organised on the occasion of this anniversary. It confirmed our opinion that people don’t always want bigger, higher and faster. As a family park we wish to honour Bobbejaan Schoepen’s values, in a contemporary way. Bobbejaan Schoepen was an entertainer who believed in a good show and we will be introducing this aspect in Bobbejaanland again”.

Owned by the Spanish group Parques Reunidos since 2004, Bobbejaanland opened last year the Spinning Coaster DIZZ designed by Maurer Söhne. The park will be open as from Saturday, March 31. For more information, visit www.bobbejaanland.be
