Our objectives

NewsParcs is a specialized media which aims to promote the global theme parks industry to a targeted audience: owners, managers and operators; suppliers and industrials, designers and consultants, etc. Serving the industry since 1998, NewsParcs is an interactive and multilingual platform which is setting up services and tools intended for the theme parks professionals.

History

NewsParcs was born in 1998, in the early days of the Internet thanks to the joint work of two theme parks enthusiasts: Matthieu Galus and David Boidin. Within the first French portal dedicated to the theme parks (''Ameland''), the site was first called ''Zineland'' before becoming ''News Parcs'' in 2000.

At that time, the site contained news, rumors, press releases and other information in the form of short notes organized by park or by subject. Months after months, several readers have strengthened the team by taking the role of reporters, what improved the quantity and quality of our information. In addition, the site has received support from more and more important from professionals, all occupations combined.

In time, NewsParcs has become a reference on the French-speaking web dedicated to theme parks (we call it « web parconautique » in our own words). In 2003, the site is redesigned with new colors and a new display system that allowing us to publish more news, always with the support of our reporters.

In the late 2000s, the activities of NewsParcs are quieter, because volunteer students of the early days are now young professionals, with no much time to manage the daily news.

In 2010, NewsParcs management was taken over by François Mayné that starts the realization of a new website with the aim of developing a full time activity, including a business directory for professionals and a e-magazine dedicated to the theme parks industry.

Again, NewsParcs could not have existed without the help of many reporters who have contributed their knowledge and skills to complement the daily news with relevant information. It would be difficult to list them all, we want to thank them publicly for their help and motivation.

NewsParcs to take an extended break

Update : 18:19 Published by François Mayné the 28 January 2014, Corporate.
These past three years have been intense for NewsParcs. Our magazine, which has been dedicated to the global theme parks industry since 1998, underwent major changes to become one of the most appreciated magazines among many professionals and enthusiasts.

Aiming to bring a different perspective to this exciting industry, we devoted all of our energy to the originality and relevance of our articles, both for our or expert readers and for the inquiring minds. A move that was hailed regularly during our many meetings with industry players, both in France and abroad.

But given that we are in an era where current events have become omnipresent, we believe it is time for us to rethink our editorial content so as to remain appealing and be different to what's already being done on the web. Despite our enthusiasm to keep NewsParcs running, we therefore regret to announce the discontinuation of our updates for an unlimited period.

We particularly wish to thank all the people and companies who have supported us over the past 3 years, including our advertisers Sally Corporation, Polin and Jora Vision. We are also grateful to the Themed Entertainment Association, IAAPA Europe and SNELAC for their support and trust.

Also thank you to all our loyal readers for their messages of sympathy and encouragement. You really have been the driving force behind this project!
