The specialized manufacturer of themed environments TAA Industries chose the Euro Attractions Show to announce the establishment of a new partner company: Garmisch Consulting Group (GCG).
Based in Grainau, Germany, GCG's main business activity is to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts and create final designs for the entertainment and attractions industry, including for amusement parks, water parks and destination resorts. “We actually decided to fund the Garmish Consulting Group to further satisfy the demand and the projects of our clients,” said Christian Angenvoort, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for TAA Industries.
“Our focus is to offer the best creative solutions to the needs of any turn key project. We provide full services with in-house design, architecture and engineering. We also provide consulting services in scheduling, budgeting, master planning, marketing planning, IP recommendation and more,” he added.
Key members of GCG's team are: Udo Weisenburger (Chairman, 20-years experience in international business management who is also TAA's President), Victor Cavaller (Managing Director, 15-year experience including with PortAventura and Thinkwell), Sven Riegel (Art Director, several year experience in theme park design) and Martin Stöckle (head of projects, industrial engineer with experience in projects all over Europe). "Our expertise comes from the projects we have developed with our mother company TAA. Our project teams include some of the most talented professionals in the Industry," concluded Christian Angenvoort.
Holovis, a world leader in sensory experience design, reports the opening of a state-of-the-art demo facility at its headquarters of Lutterworth, UK.
This facility is the only place where the different interactive experience solutions driven by the company’s softwares can be seen side by side and be put through their paces. It features three projection dome theaters (including a flying dome and the company's newest solution MotionDome™), a fived sided CAVE set up, multiple 3D and 4D theaters and an interactive dark ride test cell.
“Seeing the solutions in person is the only way clients can truly understand how they can be utilized and learn about the complete service that Holovis provides to make these easily accessible, from software through to content creation, build and maintenance,” explained Stuart Hetherington, CEO of Holovis. “We wanted to create a place where people can test and experience the different solutions, running their own content as well as watching the show reels and immersive experiences our in-house software and gaming team have created. The space is also being used by our strategic partners and clients who are bringing their whole project teams to spend the day here, testing and remodeling content including CGI and real time media on replica models while their actual solution is being built.”
The newest interactive technologies can be found within the CAVE, demonstrated as a four or five surface immersive structure. Powered by In-Mo (Information in Motion) a suite of applications have been developed by Holovis to allow real time, game engine technology to run on complex surfaces and domes, all controlled by the company’s priority software ideal for the design, manufacturing, entertainment, theme park, museum and leisure industries.
nWave Pictures announced last month the acquisition of worldwide giant screen distribution rights to “Galapagos 3D” (working title) from London-based Colossus Productions.
Written and narrated by renowned naturalist and veteran filmmaker David Attenborough, produced by Anthony Geffen and directed by Martin Williams, the film is a unique exploration of the Galapagos Islands where life has played out in relative isolation over millions of years. The film will be released to IMAX theaters and Digital Giant Screen cinemas in February 2014 and will available in 38- and 20-minute versions, 3D and 2D, 15-perf./70mm film and 4K/2K digital formats.
“After successfully launching “Penguins 3D” earlier this year at major US institutions such as the American Museum of Natural History in New York, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium and Boston’s New England Aquarium, we are excited to work with Attenborough and Geffen again on this remarkable new film that will wow kids and families alike,” said Eric Dillens, Chairman of nWave Studios. “Building a strong lineup that provides the highest quality production standards and meets the educational needs of our clients is one of our company’s top priorities.”
At the Euro Attractions Show in Paris, nWave also presented in premiere a new ride simulation film, available in 2D and 3D, produced by Red Star Films: 'Space Chase 3D'. The company also highlighted a 4D short film also produced by Red Star that has been distributing since this summer: 'The Good The Bad and A Horse 4D'. Two additional titles will be unveiled at the upcoming IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando.
UK-based engineering company Garmendale (GEL) unveiled a new dark ride vehicle named 'Motion Master' at the Euro Attractions Show in Paris. This ride system has been developed in partnership with Holovis and KD Decorative to provide turnkey solutions for an immersive and interactive dark ride.
Motion Master is guided by a central track and is moved by a twin-drive system up to 2 meters per second. It features a 3-DOF (degrees of freedom) motion platform which is able to revolve up to 11 rpm. The chassis is designed to carry a four-seater, a six-seater or an eight-seater version with lap-bars or interlocking doors instead.
“Our Motion Master was received with great interest and the Garmendale booth was visited by a lot of show attendees. We were also showcasing our Tricky Tractor and our trackless dark ride system, both of which attracted attention from the crowds attending, ” said David Shelmerdine, Managing Director of GEL.
