One World Studio
EAS booth #829
The German company One World Studio, specializing in creative design development and project management for the attractions industry, has recently introduced a new ride experience to its product portfolio. HORAO 360 is a turnkey media-based indoor panorama ride that combines a rising spinning platform and a 360° projection system.
“HORAO 360 offers an exciting educational/adventure attraction created with the help of advanced 3D video animation, visual stimuli, content related background music as well as key special effects. This is an intensely emotional experience for all generations to enjoy,” said Olaf Mordelt, founder of One World Studio.
HORAO 360 is housed under its own custom manufactured steel structure (designed by Hannover-based Architekt Group) equipped inside with the latest show sound and lighting technology. The panoramic giant screen of the basic configuration is 10-meters high for a diameter of 22 meter and a length of 70 meter. Sizes and technical specifications can vary according to the customers' needs, from the height of the overall structure to the configuration of the gondola (regular, lap-bar or floorless seats, fencing or not) for a capacity of 80 to 84 passengers per ride.
One World Studio has selected several partners to supply HORAO's equipments, including Neumann and Müller for the show control, the sound system and lighting. “All technical specifications are made with the cooperation of various world wide known manufacturers and comply to the international standards. Since we hold all the rights and are in charge of the project, we can therefore comply to our clients demands, using various different manufacturers depending on our clients requirements and budgets,” explained Olaf Mordelt.
A wide range of movie contents and related theming options (decoration, props and even ride logo design) are offered by One World Studio, including for the queue line and the preshow area. Olaf Mordelt commented: “Due to the resolution quality possible and the scale of the screen there is only very limited content available on the market right now. Depending on the content needed, at the present time we have 2 companies which we are working with and who are supporting us. If the movie is real time and realistic we are working with KUK München, if we have more GI content we will work with a company based in London.”
“With unlimited content available the theming opportunities for this attraction are endless and at the switch of a button these experiences are easily interchangeable,” added Olaf Mordelt. “This is a multi purpose investment opportunity, HORAO can house so many experiences under one roof!”
One World Studio will introduce two other brand new attraction concepts patented and aimed at children in amusement parks and FEC's at the upcoming Euro Attractions Show 2013. “We will also present a very large IP based amusement park development which we have been working on for the past 2 years with a huge corporation in Germany and will go on sale with this also during the show. So overall we are looking forward to a truly amazing and interesting show in Paris this year!” concluded Olaf Mordelt.
Polin Waterparks and Pool Systems reported the opening in late July of Boris Trajkovski Aqua Park, the first water park of Macedonia's capital Skopje. This is a government-funded project for which the Turkish company has been selected to design the facilities and supply all the attractions. Total investment is estimated to be around €4.2 million, or approx $5.6 million.
"Polin is honored to supply the rides for this project. The government was committed turning this dream into reality," said Baris Pakis, Polin President. "It was an absolute pleasure to work in Macedonia, and we look forward to further partnerships in the future."
Construction began in March during the rainy season, which did not delay the completion of the water park in time for the summer. Supervising through its new office in Macedonia, Polin worked with local Macedonian construction and electrical companies and supplied 10 water slides, a children’s water playground, a wave pool and a lazy river. The facility also includes an administrative building, a restaurant, a bar, bathrooms, changing rooms, and a first-aid station.
Among the major rides, Polin delivered a Multisurf (head-first mat racing water slide), a Turbolance with Flying Boats (extreme slide with a water-propelled uphill ride followed by steep drops), a Space Boat (raft slide ending with a whirl) and the classics Body Slide and Aquatube (the latter with audio-video special effects).
Boris Trajkovski Aqua Park is part of a larger leisure venue that features museums and public gardens, all part of a local investment plan 'Skopje 2014” to boost tourism in the city. The new water park represents 40 new jobs alone.
