The manufacturer of water slides and attractions for the water parks industry Polin was entrusted once again the design of a new water park, this time in Macedonia in the Balkans.
The market leader in Europe was selected by the public authorities of the capital city Skopje to head this project that will be part of a large leisure venue featuring museums and public gardens located next to the 'Boris Trajkovski Sports Center'. The relatively small water park represents an estimated investment of €4.2 million, ie approx $5.6 million. "We expect that this new water park will allow our area to provide guests with even more reasons to visit our remarkable city," said Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski of Macedonia at a groundbreaking ceremony last month. “This will be Skopje's main summer attraction with a direct impact on local tourism efforts along with creating 35 jobs.”
Polin will deliver 10 water slides including a mat racing complex 'Multisurf' (head first), a 'Space Boat' (raft slide, ending with a whirl), a 'Turbolance' (raft slide, with a vertical section) and the classics 'Body Slide' and 'Aquatube' (the latter with audio-video special effects). The company will also install a children's water playground pirate-themed, a lazy river and a wave pool.
In order to manage the project as best as possible, Polin has established a new office in Macedonia and has chosen local partners for construction and electrical facilities. In addition to the attractions, the water park will also include an administrative building, a restaurant, a bar, bathrooms, dressing rooms and a first-aid center.
Polin has been involved or is currently involved in several projects of designing water park from A to Z for promoters all over the world. Last year, the company build the Bugis Waterpark Adventure in Indonesia and announced it was in charge of the upcoming Cartoon Network AMAZONE in Thailand and the indoor water park of The Great Mall of China (GMOC) in China.
According to Skope's authorities, the construction will debut in March annd should last about 45 days if the weathers conditions are favorable. They expect to open the park for the summer season.
