Electrosonic, an international audio-visual systems integration and service solutions company, has announced the promotion of Sarah Joyce to Vice President for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Sarah was previously employed as General Manager Human Resources, EMEA. Her promotion follows Ilari Anttila’s decision to leave the company to return to his home country of Finland. Sarah has also been appointed to the company’s global Executive Board.
The company also announced the appointment of Marc Cooke as Director of Operations for EMEA. Cooke will be responsible for all operational activities across the Corporate, Control Rooms and Entertainment markets. He has also been appointed a member of the EMEA Leadership Team.
Sarah Joyce, new Vice President EMEA
Sarah’s sixteen years’ experience within the audio-visual industry together with her five years at Electrosonic Ltd in sales, HR and account management made her a natural candidate for the position.
Besides heading up the EMEA Leadership Team, Sarah’s core role will be to develop and execute the Electrosonic strategy across the EMEA region, oversee its operations and develop the long term growth strategy for both the service and managed services businesses.
“Sarah brings with her a proven track record of managing AV services. During her time at Electrosonic, she has been fundamental in developing new company initiatives and strategies to ensure Electrosonic remains at the forefront of its business”, commented Jim Bowie, President of the Electrosonic Group. “She possesses the skills, knowledge and drive to grow our core businesses and deliver a high value service to our clients. The entire Executive Board backed this decision and concluded Sarah is the right person to successfully lead Electrosonic Ltd into the future.”
“I am delighted to take on the position of Vice President EMEA”, commented Sarah Joyce. “My AV career to-date has provided me with the insight and vision to lead our company. I am looking forward to working with the Executive Board, the EMEA Leadership Team and my Electrosonic colleagues, to ensure our range of services to clients remain at the competitive edge of our industry, and we continue to partner with them in their further development and international expansion.”
Sarah has a long history within the AV industry where she has worked for a wide range of AV companies in a variety of disciplines, including general management, sales, business development, product marketing and human resources.
Sarah began her career with Electrosonic in 2001 as Product Marketing Manager/Business Development Manager, responsible for the development of the corporate market programme. Sarah then worked as a consultant to a number of AV companies and later as the Executive Director and Company Secretary for ‘Meeting Without Moving Foundation’, a UK not-for-profit organisation where she promoted the business benefits of video conferencing and engaging public affairs.
Prior to rejoining Electrosonic in 2010, Sarah was a Company Director of Multimedia Group (DRV), where she was part of the executive team. Following Electrosonic’s acquisition of DRV, Sarah led the integration of the DRV businesses into Electrosonic.
Commenting on Ilari’s departure from Electrosonic, Jim concluded “We fully support Ilari’s decision to return to his homeland. We are very grateful to him for leading various parts of the EMEA businesses over the last five years and instigating the development of the new managed services business. He will support Sarah in her new position for the rest of the year before rejoining his family in Finland, ensuring a smooth and successful transition.”
Marc Cooke, new Director of Operations EMEA
Cooke’s appointment is an important step in the growth of Electrosonic within the EMEA region. He will be responsible for ensuring clients receive a high level of service regardless of project size or location. Working closely with the VP of Operations, Richard Maxfield, he will continue to improve and deploy strategic operational procedures, standards and initiatives, to ensure Electrosonic continues to deliver projects on time and within budget.
“I am delighted Marc has joined Electrosonic and the EMEA Leadership Team. He brings with him a wealth of AV operations experience along with a passion for excellence,” commented Sarah Joyce, Vice President EMEA. “Having worked with Marc a number of years ago at The Video Meeting Company and seeing his career develop, I know he has a proven track record of delivering high quality, reliable solutions within a client’s time frame. His drive and ability to build key industry relationships will ensure we continue to excel in delivering successful projects across all our markets.”
Cooke has over 14 years’ experience within the audio-visual industry. Before joining Electrosonic, Cooke was Head of Global Partner Operations for Teliris Telepresence. Prior to this, he was Head of Projects for Impact Europe before being promoted to Bid Director. Preceding this he spent four years working for Audio Visual Machines as their Operations Director.
“I am very excited to be working for Electrosonic. It has been one of my ambitions for many years to work for such a prestigious AV company,” commented Marc Cooke. “I am looking forward to working with the operations team and implementing further processes to help our clients remain at the competitive edge of their industry.”
