Polin welcomes the opening of Bugis Waterpark
Adventure in Indonesia
Update : 11/12/12 - 17h07Published by François Mayné the 3 August 2012, New.
One of the largest waterparks ever built in Indonesia opened a few weeks ago in South Sulawesi nearby Makassar. Bugis Waterpark Adventure has ben developped by Pt. Baruga Asrinusa Development (part of Kalla Group) in collaboration with Turkish manufacturer Polin Waterparks and Pool Systems supported by its agent in Indonesia Hardjonosigit.
Covering an area of 7 hectares (approx 17 acres), the park features a children water playground and a complex of 6 water slides supplied by Polin as well as a lazy river and 3 pools. Products delivered are an Aquatower Type 600 (bugs themed), an Aquatube (Indonesia’s longest body slide : 150 meters/492 feet),a FreeFall (speed slide), a Multislide (4 lanes, mat racer type), a Body Slide, a Black Hole (enclosed with inner tubes) and a Rafting Slide.
Both developpers and designers wanted a themed environment reflecting the region’s traditional architecture, culture and values. Even the names of the themed zones, slides and attractions use local jargon of the Bugis, an Austronesian ethnic group of South Sulawesi. Adwin Pratama, Marketing and Advertising Manager for Bugis, says they wanted to offer an attraction that was entertaining but also educational. "We wanted the park to reflect the values and philosophy of the area-to give children and their families an opportunity to learn more about the culture and language of the Bugis."
Oz Ikiz from Polin Sales team, defined the waterpark experience at Bugis as one that local residents will appreciate, as well as visitors to the region. "The park takes guests back to a simpler time where they can relax and forget about the rush of the modern world."
Besides its activity of designing and manufacturing of water slides and water rides, Polin is also actively working at the development of new water parks for promoters, especially for the markets of Asia and Middle East. The company is currently working on several projects, including Cartoon Network AMAZONE (Thailand), The Great Mall of China Waterpark (China) and Caribbean Island Water Park (China).
