The operator of regional leisure parks Looping Group, formed by HIG Capital France associated with Laurent Bruloy, announced a few days ago to have acquired Cobac Parc, a small amusement park located near Rennes in western France.
Inaugurated in 1975, Cobac Park today offers to visitors a thirty attractions and entertainments as well as an outdoor water park that opens this season a new water slide called Super Crater, a bowl-like model provided by the Dutch manufacturer Van Egdom. Cobac Parc hosted last year more than 100,000 visitors.
Laurent Bruloy, CEO of Looping Group, said: "Cobac Parc strengthens our presence in Brittany where we are already a major player through the Grand Aquarium of Saint Malo. In addition to the pending acquisitions, we continue to invest in the development of our group through new attractions, enriching the offer of our parks and attracting a bigger crowd."
Cedric Lépée, Director of H.I.G. has meanwhile recalled: "Our goal is to become one of the European leader in operating regional amusement parks. In view of the projects currently under review, we hope to announce further acquisitions in the coming months."
The Looping Group is born in January 2011 after acquiring seven leisure parks from Compagnie des Alpes: the amusement parks Bagatelle (France), Avonturenpark Hellendoorn (Netherlands) and Pleasurewood Hill (UK), the water park Aquaparc (Switzerland), the miniature park Mini-Châteaux (France) and the two Aquariums Saint-Malo and Val de Loire (France).
