IAAPA Europe releases Euro Attractions Show 2012

IAAPA Europe has released details about the comprehensive conference programme of Euro Attractions Show (EAS) 2012, the largest European conference and trade show for the attractions industry that will be presented at Messe Berlin exbhition center in Berlin, Germany, from Tuesday October 9 to Thursday October 11.
As a prelude of the trade show will be organized the IAAPA Institute for Attractions Managers, a three-day programme (7-9 October) designed specifically for mid-level managers with two to three years of professional experience. This institute program will focus on different disciplines of attractions management, including attractions finance, marketing, leadership, facility operations and safety and revenue operations. The seats for this event will be limited and a separate registration will be required.
Seminars
The conference programme in itself will consist in several seminars accessible for free to all attendees on Tuesday and Wednesday. It will include topics such as safety, social media, and human resources and will feature prominent theme park professionals who will discuss the latest developments and trends in the industry.

Tuesday October 9, 2012
High-Tech Seminar (09:00 - 10:45)
For the first time at EAS, high technology exhibitors will showcase their products and services to attractions managers prior to the opening of the trade show.
Social Media Trends (14:00 - 15:30)
After a successful social media seminar at EAS 2011 in London, panelists will discuss again how to take control of a brand, how to develop mobile applications, and how to utilize attractions industry enthusiast websites and enthusiasts themselves as ambassadors to promote attractions
Pricing and Yield Management (15:30 - 17:00)
This seminar will give an overview of the various pricing and yield management models throughout Europe. It will also include an update on the latest payment technologies.
Emerging Markets in Europe (17:00 - 18:00)
The panel discussion will focus on the emerging markets in Europe including Poland, Russia, and Turkey.

Safety Seminar (09:00 - 11:00)
Leading safety experts will discuss systems for injury prevention, guest and employee education, and how to keep guests informed of the attraction’s safety programmes and procedures.
Human Resources (11:00 - 12:30)
This seminar track includes presentations on good complaint management and the latest management techniques to recruit, train, and retain employees.
Holiday Events (12:30 - 14:00)
Seminar participants will learn how to extend their season through holiday events. Several operators share their experience in introducing and operating events for seasons such as Halloween and Christmas.
In-Park Spend (14:00 - 16:30)
Global players from the food and beverage industry will share their views on what sold best in summer 2012 and what the customers will ask for in 2013.
Going Green (16:30 - 18:00)
Three speakers will share their knowledge on saving money by saving energy and sharpening the green profile of an attraction at the same time.
On Thursday October 11, 2012, EAS will offer a full day of seminars and special speakers dedicated to family entertainment centers and indoor playground community in Europe. The German Association of Indoor Playgrounds (VDH), in conjunction with IAAPA, will host this FEC/Indoor Playground Day with many seminars specifically created for operators, suppliers and employees. This event will require a separate ticket in addition to EAS registration.
Networking events and EAS tours
Of course, EAS will be as always the place to be for a lot of networking events (separate ticket required in addition) with 3 major appointments :
Opening Reception (October 9 / 18.30 - 21.30)
The EAS Opening Reception will take place at the Palais am Funkturm next to the trade show halls. More than 1,000 buyers and exhibitors will gather at the end of the first day of the show to network, enjoy good food and some light entertainment.
Young Professionals Reception (October 9 / 21.00 - 23.00)
The Young Professionals of the industry will gather for a special reception dedicated to the up and coming managers in attractions in Europe.
Leadership Breakfast (October 10 / 9.30 - 10.55)
Roland Mack, Managing Director Europa-Park and IAAPA chairman of the board will be the keynote speaker at this annual Leadership Breakfast. He will share his perspective on the future of the industry and present some of the ideas that have made his company successful.
EAS participants will also have the opportunity to attend (with separate registration) VIP tours at two of Berlin’s unique attractions not to mention the IAAPA’s EAS Post-Tour.
Filmpark Babelsberg (October 8 / 9.30 - 15.00)
Attendees can begin the week with a tour to Filmpark Babelsberg one of the oldest, large-scale film studios in the world.
Tropical Islands (October 11 / 13.00 - 17.00)
Attendees will enjoy a fun trip to the unique indoor waterpark resort Tropical Islands. They will learn first-hand how an old zeppelin factory has become one of Germany’s most successful indoor waterparks.
IAAPA’s EAS Post-Tour (October 12-14)
Following a successful EAS, attendees can join this three-day tour to visit Northern Germany’s most popular attractions: Heide-Park with its Hotel Port Royal, Hansa-Park right at the shores of the Baltic sea, and Hagenbecks Tierpark in Hamburg, the first zoo ever to use open enclosures surrounded by moats.
