The promoter Proyectos Emblemáticos Murcianos (PREMURSA) announced that it is currently finalizing the plans for the future Paramount theme park and LifeStyle Center in Alhama de Murcia, Spain.
The resort will be finally developed on an area of 103 hectares (about 255 acres) and not 158 hectares (about 390 acres) as was originally planned for the project. Actually, PREMURSA has not been able to fullfill all the conditions necessary for the purchase of the remaining 55 hectares and announced the abandonment of this initiative.
Despite this setback, PREMURSA states that this will not affect the original plans and the established deadlines. The size of the resort will be adjusted to the new surface, leading to the optimization of construction costs and additional synergies between the theme park - whose dimensions will not change - and the LifeStyle Center for which significant adjustments will be made, while retaining the same facilities and leisure areas specified in the original project : Street Mall, restaurants, nightclubs, hotels and business center. As a reminder, the park was supposed to be built on the missing 55 hectares and the LifeStyle Center on the 103 hectares already acquired. The surface of the latter will then be reduced by almost 50%.
"Thanks to the integration of the park and the LifeStyle Center, visitors will be able to enjoy the two spaces in a much more convenient, simple and fast way" said the promoter in a release. "In this way, the project gains not only in profitability, but also in operation and efficiency."
PREMURSA finally added that the laying the foundation stone will be held as soon as plans are finalized. The event is already scheduled for May 31.
