The 2012 edition of the Euro Attractions Show (EAS), Europe’s largest conference and trade show for the €8.6 billion leisure and attractions industry, will be held from Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 October in Berlin, Germany.
More than 7,000 attractions industry professionals from theme parks, waterparks, zoos, aquariums, museums, family entertainment centers, casinos and resorts are expected at the Messe Berlin exhibition center. Located near many hotels and restaurants, Messe Berlin will offer easy transportation connections to the S-Bahn and the U-Bahn making it highly accessible to the center of the capital city and the new Berlin Brandenburg airport, which will open next June.
In the exhibit hall, more than 350 companies from 80 countries will showcase innovative products and services in more than 100 categories, including amusement and theme park rides; architectural and design services; coin-operated games, skill games, and redemption prizes; theatrical productions; and maintenance services and equipment.
Euro Attractions Show is owned and produced by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), and has evolved into Europe’s largest trade fair dedicated to the attractions industry. EAS is managed by IAAPA’s European operations, under the direction of the IAAPA Europe Advisory Committee and the IAAPA Europe Manufacturers and Suppliers SubCommittee.
Education sessions at the EAS conference programme will cover the core issues of attractions operations, including: new technologies, Halloween events, emerging markets, food and beverage trends, sustainability, social media, safety, waterparks, and family entertainment centers (FECs) with presentations from European industry leaders.
The event will also feature exclusive behind-the-scenes tours at local attractions including Tropical Islands (the world's largest indoor waterpark) and Filmpark Babelsberg. Unique networking events are also planned throughout the week to help attendees make meaningful firsthand connections within the industry.
Finally, ahead of the trade show will be held the IAAPA Institute for Attraction Managers, a 3-day seminar programme for emerging leaders in the industry.
Schedules Overview
The trade show floor will be open from 11.00 -18.00 on 9 and 10 October and from 11.00 to 16.00 on 11 October.
