Europa-Park stated that its 37th season has been once again a great success with an attendance exceeding well over four million visitors in 2011. The biggest German amusement park has notice an increase of the attendance coming from France (totaling nearly a million visits) as well as visitors from Austria, the Benelux and Arab countries.
Surveys conducted at the park by external companies on the behavior of visitors awarded him "top marks for both quality and satisfaction" when people were asked about attractions, shows, hotels and catering.
Also according to these surveys, is the family atmosphere that is one of the major assets of Europa Park. Among the points of satisfaction of 2011 are the new attractions "Volo Da Vinci", "Enchanted Forest" and the new restaurant FoodLoop. In addition, the first 4D film to be produced at Europa-Park, “The Secret of Balthasar Castle”, was seen by more than 150,000 people during the Christmas holidays. Due to this huge success and to meet the demand of visitors and fans, the producers and Mack Media have decided to create a new version of this film next summer.
Another survey revealed that 98% of visitors plan to return in the future, and 70% of them ... from next season ! Hotel guests stayed an average of 2.3 days in the park, a statistic which is increasing.
Two major novelties in 2012
Marking the beginning of 2012, the owners of Europa-Park Roland and Jürgen Mack officially announced the name of their next new attraction: WODAN Timbur Coaster. This wooden coaster, designed by Great Coasters International, will be 1,050 meters long for a maximum height of 35 meters, a top speed of nearly 100 km/h and vertical accelerations of up to 3.5 G. The ride will open on Saturday 31 March.
In addition to this attraction, Europa-Park will also open its fifth themed hotel, “Bell Rock” (a 4 * superior over 1000 beds), in the summer. As explained Roland Mack: "Our hotel capacity had reached its limits. Every year, Europa-Park generates a total of over 1.8 million nights in the region."
According to the park, the lighthouse built in the new complex is symbolic : Europa-Park is both one of the biggest driving forces for jobs and the economy in Baden-Württemberg (the new hotel alone is creating 260 new jobs) and an absolute beacon for tourism throughout the Switzerland, France and Germany border region.
Both these novelties represent the largest investment in the story of Europa-Park. "We also now have an extremely strong position internationally" added Roland Mack.
