Record number of visitors in belgian Plopsa parks

during the Christmas holidays

Update : 18:47 Published by François Mayné the 6 January 2012, Corporate.

The Plopsa group, the theme parks division of Studio 100 which manages five sites in Europe, today announced record attendance figures for the two parks that were open during the Christmas holidays in Belgium : Plopsaland De Panne and Plopsa Indoor Hasselt .

Plopsaland De Panne, the most visited amusement park of the country before Walibi Belgium and Bobbejaanland, has once again performed well. He beat his own record of 2010 with an attendance up sharply from 22% to 52,000 visitors instead of 43,000 last year.

The 2011 season concluded with great optimism, the park having broke attendance records during the Easter holidays (+ 5%) and the summer holidays (+ 5%).

The new Mayaland indoor area contributed to the attendance record this winter.

Samia Moujane, marketing manager of Plopsa for France and Wallonia said: "Plopsaland De Panne has been growing steadily, despite the current economic situation. The park attracts more and more visitors thanks to its various attractions, service quality and beauty of the location. It offers fun and entertainment for the whole family."

She adds: "Not to mention the indoor Mayaland area that opened to the public in July with its 10 attractions and two restaurants. This is a great destination, even if the weather is not always clement! "

Plopsa Indoor Hasselt, the only indoor theme park in Belgium, has attracted 37,500 visitors during the Christmas holidays, an increase of 6% compared to the previous year (35,500 visitors in 2010). It offers twenty attractions and shows specifically dedicated to small children.
