Access to the content of NewsParcs and use of these services by the user implies acceptance of and compliance with all terms of these conditions. The user is informed that these conditions may be subject to change over time.

Description of Services

NewsParcs is an interactive platform providing various services for theme parks professionals, enthusiasts and visitors. These services mainly allow user to access to content and multimedia features (articles, press reviews and directory for example).

Any user who wants to can subscribe to a NewsParcs subscription described in "Subscriptions offers" which are: Open, Pro, Premium and Business. As of writing these conditions, only the Open and Pro subscriptions are available. Open and Pro subscriptions are free, users can subscribe to it using the form available in the "Members area".

Protection of Privacy

The user is informed that only the information "Last Name", "First Name(s)", "Email", "Country" and "Birthday date" are required when registering for a subscription. NewsParcs guarantees that it will not use personal information to deliver or sell them to third parties. The information collected are for statistical purposes and for future service (including sending a membership card to the user's home). The user is informed that he has a right of modification and revocation of his personal data on request to NewsParcs (see our contact details on Legal page), according to French law "Informatique et Libertés" of January 6, 1978 amended in 2004. You can also, for legitimate reasons, oppose the processing of your data. NewsParcs is registered at CNIL, declaration number: 1516512.

Cookie

When browsing on NewsParcs, a cookie may be used if the user has registered for one of the subscriptions, in order that the site can recognize him and connect without asking for the password each time. Cookies that are collected on the pages of NewsParcs will not be transmitted to third parties. However, the user is informed that in case of clicking on an external link or a banner of advertising, NewsParcs is not responsible for the possible registration of a cookie by the websites to which it is redirected.

Facebook Connect application

The "Facebook Connect" has been put in place to facilitate registering on NewsParcs for users who already have an account on the social networking site Facebook.

This feature connects to a Facebook account only if the user validates the request to Facebook via a pop-up separately. In this application, the user acknowledges that the "Facebook Connect" will connect to his Facebook account and retrieve a range of information that will be used to facilitate and expedite the registration process on NewsParcs. This feature takes the form of an "application" in terms of Facebook.

The user is notified of the information that is collected, which is: "Last Name", "First Name(s)", "Email," "Country" and "Birthday date". The app doesn't acess to any other information.

The information collected must then be validated by the user to confirm registration. It is understood that the "Facebook Connect" will identify the user on NewsParcs if the user is connected in parallel to Facebook. NewsParcs can not in any way interfere or interact with the user data. The user is informed that he may at any time remove the function (and therefore the application) via his Facebook account and specifically using applications management and removing the one of NewsParcs. It can also use the "Disconnect my Facebook account" on the Members Area. The user will still be registered and will need to make a specific request to end the subscription (see: Unsubscribe)

Special cases of minors

NewsParcs is keen for the protection of minors on the Internet. Although the topics we discuss are related to amusement parks, and our pages do not contain adult content, we note that NewsParcs is not intended for children under 13. Collect information from children under 13 would be involuntary from us, and we encourage parents to accompany them in their use of the Internet and NewsParcs.

Unsubscribe

The user can at any time stop his subscription via the account settings (in the Members Area). The user is informed that the deregistration is final and terminates the subscription immediately without refund in case of a Premium or Business subscription. NewsParcs can keep the data of a user for a maximum period of one year after the unsubscription.

Use of the Site and the Services

Links

On all pages of NewsParcs, external links are used to direct the user to additional or extra content. It is understood that the responsibility for NewsParcs can not be established on the possible consequences of such content on the user.

NewsParcs garantees to publish links that are consistent with the subjects of the site, and that doesn't mislead the user. NewsParcs ensures to clarify these links, especially in case of specific files (such as PDF or DOC).

NewsParcs is not responsible for the evolution of these links over time, and misuse that may be made by third parties. The user is informed that a link is always provided for informational purposes, and that it may not be what NewsParcs had seen at the beginning.

Some affiliated links can direct the user to merchant websites (online ticketing for example), or save a cookie. NewsParcs will try to mention this kind of links by the mentions "Special Offers", "Advantages" or "Discounts". The user is informed that he may receive affiliate links by email if he has decided to receive the "Special Offers" email alerts (see account settings). The user is never forced to buy and can not complain against NewsParcs in case of litigation with one of these merchants. The different affiliate platforms we work with are Publicidées, Tradoubler France and TradeTracker.

These provisions also apply to all external sources of information that could be presented on the pages of NewsParcs, such as, for example embedded videos from Youtube, Vimeo or Daylimotion.

If the content of a link evolves and is different than presented by NewsParcs, we suggest the user to inform us quickly via the contact form so we can fix or delete the link.

Newsletter

User who subscribed to a subscription will automatically receive the newsletter of NewsParcs. This newsletter includes the articles and press reviews posted on the site, and is sent by default daily to the e-mail that was filled during registration. The frequency of sending can be changed at any time by the user through the parameters of his personal account in the members area. The frequency change is effective immediately. User wishing to unsubscribe from the newsletter may do so via the parameters of his personal account by clicking on "never" in the section on the frequency. This action does not terminate the subscription itself.

Themed Entertainment Association celebrates 20th anniversary

Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) will celebrate once again excellence in the creation of compelling places and experiences with its business Summit and the annual Thea Awards Gala to be organized at Disneyland Resort (California, USA) between March 15 and 17.

"The 2012 TEA Summit followed by the Thea Awards gala will be 3 days of business networking and executive leadership dialog plus celebration of achievement and success," says TEA president Rick Rothschild of FAR Out! Creative Direction. "These events highlight the breadth of our international industry and the extraordinary collaboration amongst a wide diversity of disciplines, talents and skills. It is also that annual reconnecting with colleagues who make up the world-class creative 'family' that is the TEA. We're really pleased at the caliber of participation this year - we're going all-out for TEA's 20th anniversary. "

TEA is an international nonprofit alliance founded in 1991 and based in Burbank, California. It represents some 7,000 creative specialists, from architects to designers, technical specialists to master planners, scenic fabricators to artists, and builders to feasibility analysts working in some 700 firms in 30 US states and 40 different countries.

ThTEA Summit to be held at Disneyland Resort March 15-17e first day of the TEA Summit (March 15) will be a limited attendance event geared to top level executive with two keynotes: "Undercover Boss" about leadership strategy by Joel Manby, CEO of Herschend Family Entertainment, and "Sell the Feeling" about entrepreneurial success by renowned business coach and author Phil Glosserman. Discussion will focuse on ensuring success in today's global marketplace. Economics specialists Ray Braun, Christian Aaen and Matt Earnest of Entertainment + Culture Advisors will speak on Economies and Emerging Markets; Dina Benadon (Super 78), Chris Conte (Electrosonic) and Brad Merriman (ProFun) will share lessons in international contracts.

The second day of the TEA Summit (March 16) will explore the back-stories of this year's Thea Award recipients, spanning a wide range of international projects. It will be attended by a diverse group of industry creatives, from students to professionals, and keynote will be presented by Walt Disney Imagineering Legend Joe Rohde. Other speakers include Jeremy Railton (EDG; designer, Crane Danceat Resorts World Sentosa), Tom Fitzgerald (EVP Walt Disney Imagineering in connection with Star Tours - The Adventures Continue), Amelia Anne Gordon (producer, Space Fantasy the Ride at Universal Studios Japan), Matthew Jessner (Artistic Director, The House of Dancing Water at City of Dreams, Macau) and many more.

2012 Thea AwardsThe annual Thea Awards Gala (March 17) - an elegant, black-tie dinner affair - will confer 16 awards while marking TEA's 20th anniversary. The prestigious Theas are the "Oscars" of the attractions industry, recognizing and celebrating excellence in the creation of compelling places and guest experiences. 

Awards are formally presented to the project owners while the project creatives and builders are acknowledged and credited. The Thea Awards are an expression of TEA's core mission to foster better relationships between operators, creatives and vendors, and to generate greater awareness of the people and companies behind these icons of popular culture and the human experience.Confirmed celebrity presenters include Pixar's Pete Docter and Jonas Rivera, Cars2 composer Michael Giacchino, actor Anthony Daniels (C3PO) and "Ambassador of Pete Docter Americana" Charles Phoenix.Ticket sales are open to the industry and the public.
