NewsParcs is in the service of the theme parks industry since 1998. The site aims to be an interactive platform to promote global industry of theme parks to a targeted audience. To do so, we set up services, actions and tools for use by leisure industry professionals, enthusiasts and visitors.
Since its debuts, NewsParcs is followed by a increasingly number of Internet users and has gained some
recognition of these target audiences:
- Professionals of the theme parks industry, including managers, operators and industrial companies,
- Theme parks enthusiasts,
- Visitors curious to learn more about the world of theme parks.
NewsParcs remains primarily a general public site, with the desire to publish content accessible to all.
NewsParcs was born in 1998, in the early days of the Internet thanks to the joint work of two theme parks enthusiasts: Matthieu Galus and David Boidin. Within the first French portal dedicated to the theme parks (''Ameland''), the site was first called ''Zineland'' before becoming ''News Parcs'' in 2000.
At that time, the site contained news, rumors, press releases and other information in the form of short notes organized by park or by subject. Months after months, several readers have strengthened the team by taking the role of reporters, what improved the quantity and quality of our information. In addition, the site has received support from more and more important from professionals, all occupations combined.
In time, NewsParcs has become a reference on the French-speaking web dedicated to theme parks (we call it « web parconautique » in our own words). In 2003, the site is redesigned with new colors and a new display system that allowing us to publish more news, always with the support of our reporters.
In the late 2000s, the activities of NewsParcs are quieter, because volunteer students of the early days are now young professionals, with no much time to manage the daily news.
In 2010, NewsParcs management was taken over by François Mayné that starts the realization of a new website with the aim of developing a full time activity, including a business directory for professionals and a e-magazine dedicated to the theme parks industry.
Again, NewsParcs could not have existed without the help of many reporters who have contributed their knowledge and skills to complement the daily news with relevant information. It would be difficult to list them all, we want to thank them publicly for their help and motivation. Today, we still are looking for people who could give us some help especially for foreign theme parks. You are welcome!
