Euro Attractions Show 2012 (EAS), the largest conference and trade show for the attractions industry in Europe, today opened its door in Berlin, Germany. More than 350 companies responded to the call of IAAPA Europe and are present at the exhibition center Messe Berlin to showcase their products / services and meet their current and future customers.
As one of the media partners, NewsParcs is also attending the 3 days of the event in order to take stock of the latest industry news and the ongoing projects for the coming months. Pending the publication of our articles, we already invite you to take a look at our first pictures on our Facebook page.
For the first time in the history of the EAS was held an opening ceremony in the presence of Roland Mack, IAAPA's current Chairman of the Board and Chip Cleary, IAAPA's President and CEO. After a video overview of major novelties of the year in European theme parks and speeches, the EAS was officially opened by the symbolic cutting of the ribbon.
In parallel to the exhibition, a conference program is also offered to all attendees. Today, several topics were discussed by industry professionals such as social media, emerging markets in Europe or the latest high-tech innovations during a special seminar presented on the sidelines of the opening ceremony.
By late afternoon, nearly 1,000 professionals gathered at the Palais am Funkturm inside Messe Berlin for the traditional welcome reception. Entertainments were performed by Europa-Park's artistic teams and the evening ended with a magnificent fireworks during which were played some of the musical excerpts of Europe's latest theme parks projects including Disney Dreams!, Aquanura and WODAN Timburcoaster.
Jakob Wahl, program manager for IAAPA Europe, stated to NewsParcs: "This first day went very well, we had more visitors than in the 2011 edition in London. I spoke with many exhibitors and they are very happy, which is good because it means that the trade show is already a success! Tonight, we finished with a beautiful event that we had never organized in the past with acrobats, singers, dancers and fireworks. I think attendees enjoyed!"
