Chance Rides to deliver 4 rides at Galveston Island
The U.S. manufacturer Chance Rides, headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, announced it was selected as a supplier of rides for Landry's Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, Texas, a new amusement park scheduled to open in May 2012. (see our related articles below for more details)
Rides that will be delivered are :
- a 27 meters high (90 feet) Giant Wheel with 20 gondolas (Galaxy Spin)
- a 11 meters high (36 feet) Double Decker Carroussel with a capacity of max 44 adults / 32 children (Carousel)
- a pirates ship - model name is: Pharaoh's Fury - with a capacity of about 50 passengers (Sea Dragon)
- a Revolution 20, a pendulum thrill ride (up to 16 meters / 53 feet high and 120° amplitude) designed by KMG with a capacity of 20 riders.
Galveston's Island Pleasure Beach will be one of a kind in the United States with 16 rides, a concert stage, games, retail stores and food venues including a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. restaurant. There will also a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter roller coaster and a double-drops Interlink Log Flume.
Landry's also runs Kemah Boardwalk, a waterfront amusement park that owns five Chance rides and is located approx 50 km / 30 miles north of Galveston.
