The Olympia Exhibition Centre in London will host Euro Attractions Show (EAS) 2011, the largest European conference and trade show for the attractions industry, from Tuesday, 27 September to Thursday, 29 September. The seminar programme will include topics such as safety, social media, and human resources and feature prominent theme park professionals who will discuss the latest development and trends in the industry. In addition, three legends from the attractions industry will reflect on their successful past, comment on the current state of the industry, and talk about the future of the attractions business.
Institute for Attractions Managers

The Institute for Attractions Managers is a three-day programme aimed at mid-level managers with
two to three years of professional experience, and focus on different disciplines of attractions management. A limited number of seats are available for this course and a separate registration is required.
Seminar Programme
27-28 September, 2011
On Tuesday and Wednesday, trade show attendees can participate in various seminars. Tuesday seminars will focus on the latest social media tools like location-based applications currently being implemented by some attractions. Attendees can learn the results of a study on the impact of fancommunities and also hear success stories regarding the use of intellectual property in the theme park industry.
Sessions held on Wednesday will feature the fourth edition of the IAAPA Europe Safety Seminar. Experts will discuss the latest information on ride safety, ride safety legislation, and health issues. Afternoon topics include human resource challenges and the latest management techniques to recruit, train, and retain employees. The day will conclude with the Waterpark Forum. All of these seminars are open to trade show attendees free of charge. Registration is not necessary; however, space is limited and seats will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Theme Park Legends and FEC seminars
For the second time EAS will host the Theme Park Legends seminar. John Collins, (Pleasure Park, Madame Tussauds, etc.), Colin Dawson (Thorpe Park, BALPPA) and Olivier de Bosredon (Parc Astérix, Grevin et Cie) will tell their stories, discuss their successes, discuss the present state and future of the attractions industry.
In addition, Thursday sessions will be devoted to family entertainment centers and indoor playgrounds. The Play Providers Association, in conjunction with IAAPA, will host the Play Providers Conference and the ASPIRE Awards, the centre piece of the annual indoor play calendar (a separate registration is required).
Networking events
EAS offers attendees several opportunities to network with industry colleagues, including the first
IAAPA Europe Leadership Breakfast, which will take place Tuesday and feature keynote speaker Nick Varney, group chief executive of Merlin Entertainments Ltd. On Tuesday evening, attendees can participate in the EAS Welcome Reception at the Olympia Exhibition Centre and the Young Professional Reception hosted for the upcoming attractions industry managers at Pembrooke Pub.
The EAS Gala, at the Royal Courts of Justice, on Wednesday 28 September, will offer participants a
relaxed atmosphere to connect with colleagues. All networking events require a separate ticket.
EAS Tours at London Attractions
Participants can experience London and some of its most popular attractions first-hand. Tours will be offered Monday, 26 September to The EDF Energy London Eye and Madame Tussauds and Thursday, 29 September to LEGOLAND® Windsor.
In addition, delegates can register for a post-EAS-trip to visit some of the United Kingdoms most famous attractions: Blackpool Pleasure Beach, featuring the new Nickelodeon Land and Drayton Manor Theme Park, and its new Ben10 rollercoaster and hotel. Additional registration is required for all tours and the post trip.
